I don't think you can be a fashion lover in New Zealand recently without having realised that we have just welcomed our first (and hopefully not last) Topshop.
My mother, who grew up in London, has memories of Topshop as "the British Supree". Not the best reviews. I, who left London at the age of 8, have nothing but what I have heard from others, or read online. Not for the first time, I choose to ignore my mother and go to the Topshop May preview weekend.
I am very happy, and a little poorer for doing so. In my opinion the Topshop selection that Karen Walker has bought to our shores is wonderful and much needed! If only there was more. It was a sparse sea of muted tones, very well priced and I will be back.
Has anyone else had a chance to check it out? Thoughts?
