About a mother and father.

I am a lucky lass. I’m at a fun point in my life, surrounded by not only some amazing people, but some great fashion inspiration.

My parents have always opened their hearts and their wardrobes to me. Ever since I was 16 years old mother and I have been a little more like sisters, sharing shoes, clothes and fashion sense. There are few things that are off limits to me from her racks, to date I think it is just one pair of French Connection boots (and to be honest, I am pretty scared to wear them).

My father on the other hand, has been a slightly different role in my fashion nurturing. Although I am sure if I asked he probably would reluctantly let me knick a nice shirt, his role is more of an encourager. Unlike most mother and father teams, my father is often the one buying the designer clothes, and pushing me (and mum) to do the same. He introduced me to The Sartorialist, he came away from a recent trip to Melbourne with a matt black trench and probably spends more on clothes than mother and I combined.

I love it. I love them. And I love what they wear.

Ladies who shop.

I have been getting prepared. Catching up on old episodes. Filling the gaps in my vast knowledge of the ladies who shop. In particular, one lady.

My best friend once told me I was just like Carrie Bradshaw. At the time I was elated, thinking that little me could be like the goddess of shoes. How ever, having now watched most episodes of ‘Sex and the City’, it is kind of an insult. Like saying you are shallow, selfish, man obsessed and narcissistic. But this is not why any woman (or gay man) watches this cult classic. It is the fantasy. Much like children who suspend disbelief that Peter Pan can fly, we all watch and tell ourselves that we indeed could live in New York, in a cute apartment, spend thousands of dollars on shoes, clothes and wear pearls to bed on the salary of a once a week column.

So I look forward to Tuesday, when my girls and I have a few drinks, don our heels and head to the cinema, to park our sanity and fall into the world of make believe.

Talkin' 'bout Miu Miu. (Miu Miu)

After looking over my previous post I thought about porn.

I thought about shoe porn in relation to normal/people porn. I thought about how they have some common themes. People (I hear) often have a type of porn that they enjoy. For example we have the “barely legal”, “big boobs”, “lesbian” varieties. Or the slightly broader categories like “blonde”, or “brunette” (and a plethora of others).

I think shoes are much the same. Some people are obsessed with Louboutin, others are more of a brogue addict. I myself enjoy perving at anything with a good heel. At the moment, I am partial to a chunky heel or wedge. But it must be toweringly uncomfortable; tiptoe tall or I am uninterested.

So when I was having a gander at Rag Pony today I saw a variety of everything I want in a shoe. Fun, bright, over the top, stand out and chunky. So I present Miu Miu’s latest collection. Yum.

I particularly adore the clog with cats! How could you not look amazingly chic wearing a pair of those? Miu Miu clogs, drainpipe jeans, Hanes white tee with a dash of red lipstick and the ‘do’ of the moment (ballet bun), you would be vogue.

I have now slightly depressed myself wanting this outfit. I best go off and search for more shoes to lift my spirits!

Shoe Porn.

Mac Attack.

Mac has launched a new make up line. It is a promotion with Liberty of London, and it WILL knock your socks off.

I don't know a lot about beauty products, it is not my forte. I know MAC is a good, no, a great brand. It’s where I turn when I want a good quality beauty treat.

What drew me in, was the amazing photography of launch poster.

I know, it’s great. Here are some of the pretty products that you will be able to get your hands on...

This got me talking and a good friend of mine told me about Liberty of London’s products for Target(America).

I love it all, especially the bikes. An accessory everyone should have, environmentally friendly, fitness aware and beautiful! What more could you want.

Lets look at a lookbook.

As I said before, Ruby has previewed their new line (in shops July). Summer is officially here, in fashion. So lets have a look.

I'm not in love, although I am sure when I get into the shop and run my fingers along the rack (much to my mothers dismay), I will succumb and buy a lot of it.

Pieces of note are the cute white knit jumper, black dress with cut out sides, spotty dress, the entire outfit of skinny jeans and the shoes!

Some of the patterns coming through remind me of Chloe's last season.

The spots remind me of Karen Walkers coming season…but done better!

I will however be in line to purchase those shoes as soon as they grace the shelves; I completely adore them (again, mother will not be pleased).

I don't often find a good high-heeled summer shoe, they are usually a bit to hot and sticky for a summer day, or, they are the jandal with heel. That was grim day in fashion.

What do you think? Does it bring the smell of summer?

To bling, or not to bling.

I bumped into a friend of mine the other day, an old high school friend. I have always found him to be quite stylish. Not a fashion follower but a very good dresser.

On this particular day he had a piece of man-jewellery on (just a simple chain around his neck). I found this incredibly distracting. I kept looking at it and giggling, expecting him to bust out some rad T-Pain moves. Maybe it's highly old fashioned of me, but I believe men only look good (in a jewellery sense) wearing a wedding ring. Jewellery suits woman, and in my opinion, not men.

Stolen Girlfriends Club disagrees with me some what, with their own line of unisex jewellery.

I however still find myself prone to jewellery-less men. So blog world, what do you think? Do you like your men blinging?
