Sabine's out of the closet... but not in that way.

Do any of you Aucklanders remember Sabine? She had a little shop on Ponsonby road filled with cute kiwi design that slotted into most peoples wardrobes nicely? Ring a bell? Good. Well, I, like others, was bitterly disappointed when she shut her doors as I so wanted her to grow and see where she could go.

Well lucky for me, and any others, she is back. This time teaming up with Farmers, and with a new Creative Director (Venecia Martin) on board. Here is a sneak peak at some of the incredibly reasonably priced pieces hitting Farmers throughout the coming months.

Column-date.

Love this look.

I cant stop looking at this photo from this great street style blog. It is just the perfect balance of sexy (with that slightly sheer shirt), cute and girly (the blush and bow), man style (rad chinos) and a bit of punk (with the studs and bangles).

Never has an outfit so perfectly blended the biggest trends of the season. And never have I wanted to learn how to fishtail plait my hair.

An open letter to the midriff.

I see you there, sneaking into catwalks, Vogue and hell even celebrity red carpet events. And really I don't think its appropriate, necessary or fair.

While you swan in there, carb-free diets, pilate-d up with the tan you picked up from your latest sojourn in the Caribbean, you get all us normal midriffs excited. We think its time to play, time to bare all and be free. But the truth is that our snowy white (positively reflective) slightly rounded and most certainly not toned midriffs have no place out of our shirts, dresses or rad high-wasted pants.

Stop taunting us, because as gorgeous and casually cool as you look, you are in the minority, and an army of pasty potbellies will come out. And you don't want that. Nobody wants that.

So, slowly button up, pull down those tee shirts (or buy a bigger size) and remain only out on the beaches - and only if you must.

That is all.

Summer is in desperate need of these.

While I am on a wish list roll, I am in major love (and of course - desperate need) of the following for my summer wardrobe.

Today is drab and dreary but I know this summer is going to be amazing.... so playsuits and cork heeled shoes at the ready!

Totally tee-tastic.

I have been majorly craving the purchase of a plain, crisp white t-shirt. Perhaps one from AS Colour. I am definitely feeling the dressing down and accessorizing up this summer.

Whilst I was perusing Topshop.com (an almost daily ritual for me) I mentally (and visually) created a white tee look that I am now locking my wallet away to avoid actually purchasing.

Pretty perfect pointy Pointers.

Recently I ran my bank balance into the red (look away now mum and dad). One of the (many) things i sprung for was a pair of Karen Walker Pointer Brogues on Trade me.

These leather and suede emerald shoes are adorable. I have worn them every day since I won the auction and I can tell they will be a great summer staple.

I have been playing with the idea of brogues for a wile without actually committing to buying a pair. Now I have taken the plunge I wonder why I didn't long long ago!

I'm silly. You shouldn't be.

Kate Bosworth - babe.

Just a quick post to say how much I am loving Kate Bosworth rocking this tangerine Christopher Kane dress in Santa Monica the other day.

This look is incredible and fun, and she has finished off nicely with those lovely heels.

Seriously love this look.

How Carrie of me.

New Idea, the New Zealand gossip magazine has recently has changed its editor and is making a huge effort to re-invent itself. With an up haul and design change, a shift in their market to a younger audience and a bigger focus on all things fashion and beauty.

This left a little room in the fashion section for a new column, and low and behold they asked me to write it. So below is the first instalment which was on sale for all of last week (click to enlarge).

In the column on sale this week I talk about the colour Cobalt blue (and how we should all be wearing it) and I was even asked to rate all the celebs in their frocks page - how honored! So, if you are an NZ resident, do check it out, because as well as my pages, the mag is looking great, and who doesn't love a little escapism to the world of celebrity every now and then!

Enjoy.

Marilyn, you look beautiful. Can I have your pants?

I am so excited about the release of this film. For those of you who don't know My Week with Marilyn is a  British film staring Michelle WilliamsKenneth BranaghEddie RedmayneDominic Cooper and Emma Watson to be released at the end of this year

It depicts the making of the 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl, which starred Marilyn Monroe and Laurence Olivier, looking at one particular week in the where Marilyn embraces British culture and leaves her Hollywood life behind a little.

It sounds like a slow, and perhaps undramatic film. But I have an odd feeling the costumes and cinematography will remind me of one of my favourite films, A Single Man. I am probably putting too high a hope on this, but these stills do nothing but excite me even more. Bring on December!
