The shoe show.

Kathryn Wilson did her very first solo show at NZ fashion week yesterday. Being a shoe fan I was (and still am) besotted with the idea of just showing shoes... giving them the proper show they deserve! And, in my opinion, they did it very well. The raised catwalk, slightly distracting leotards, red lips and the shoes. Oh the shoes.

I take my (non-existent) hat off to you and will most likely be giving a lot of my paycheque to come!

Fashion Week. BANG.

So guys, it is New Zealand Fashion week!! At it started with a bang (of both enthusiasm and thunder in the ever so stormy Auckland). Now there is one lady, who's collection I have been looking forward to seeing for ages.

Juliette Hogan.

She is a stunning New Zealand designer and I often find myself lusting after everything in her lookbook. She showed today, and her collection, although different from her usual feminine and whimsical feel, is still amazing. She has channeled a bit more of a hard edge this season and I like. It has 50s feel with a lot more structure than her summer collection. Biggest want would have to be the spotted blazer. I could rattle on for ages... but the proof is in the pudding. So take a look and tell me what you think.

(Unfortunately I couldn't find any good pictures of her great leather jackets...but will update when I do!)

KW shows at NYFW (OMG WTF LOL).

I must say I was pretty sceptical of Karen Walkers latest Spring collection that has just shown in New York. I wasn't so excited by her last collection, and I found very little in store (apart from the always amazing jewellery line) that caught my eye.

Luckily this new collection has some really really great pieces.

I still think Miss Walker has a bit of a pyjama feel to some of her clothes due to the loose fit and high use of patterns...but I do love the choice of pattern/colour and appreciate that not all women would look like a 12 year old lost in a fabric store in these pieces. I unfortunately would. So I will steer clear of these (except for maybe the super cute loose shorts, they look highly fun and summery), and head towards the skirts.

Oh the skirts. Oh every skirt in her collection belongs in my wardrobe. Before seeing these pictures I wasn't completely convinced of the new "it" skirt (the knee to mid calf length) but now, baby I am converted. Get me 10. They look simple, impeccably cut and fitted, while being such a fun and summery colour. Also the belts are such a great compliment to each skirt.

Another piece immediately jumping to the top of my want list is the I heart NY tee. A simple play on a nice classic, in cool colours. What's not to love.

Below are my favourite picks from the recently previewed collection. For the whole thing click here.

P.s. Can I also have each of these shoes in a size 5? Thanks. Yum.

Want.

Damn me for being quite so slow on the uptake. It seems Alexa's clothing release has blown a fire up most bloggers asses and got them all excited... and I don't blame them.

For those of you who don't know Alexa (smack your wrist), she is the latest face of british style. She has made a name for herself in effortless chic, casual, stomach-achingly cool. There is a very good article on her and her background in the August issue of Australian Vogue. Go forth and read.

Now, back to business. Alexa has created a collection for fashion store Madewell. And, much like Alexa, her clothes seem to be effortlessly chic, wonderfully casual, stomach-achingly cool and quintessentially british.

Now before you man your credit cards and head to the link below, quite a lot of the items have sold out (due to how well priced they are - good going Madewell), but they will be restocking shortly. Goodie.

Below are some of my favorites, if you want to see the entire collection click here.

Lust lookbook.

So I am having a bit of a saving money spree/dry patch... I always find that when one of these comes along, everything you have ever wanted is created (expensively) and sits in front of you at every move. So In an attempt to get my fashion cravings out of my system I have made a lust lookbook!

Top - Topshop, Boots - Asos, Belt - Marc Jacobs, Trousers - Topshop

Shorts - Topshop, Bag - Mulberry, Shoes - Miu Miu, Singlet - Topshop

Top - Wildpair, Shorts - Levis, Boots - Asos, Bag - Topshop

Dress - Alice+Olivia, Ring - Topshop, Shoes - Miu Miu

If I had all the money in the world (or maybe just a wee portion of it), on top of a large pile of other things... these outfits would be mine!

Today I wore...

I have just returned from a nice weekend in Wellington visiting the fam. It was lovely and I miss them already. Today I am having a bit of a blah day (due to nasty delays heading home making me tired), but I just wanted to do a quick outfit post to show off...
a) my new glasses
b) my new favorite scarf - handmade by my grandma

Hopefully I will be back on top (awake) form soon, as I have a back log of blog-able clothes.
